Children’s Quilts

One of our monthly meetings is devoted to the making of children's quilts. We meet the first Tuesday of every month at 9:30 in Choral Hall at University Baptist Church. We have a large closet of fabric and batting, cutting mats and cutters, irons and ironing boards and other supplies; we bring our own sewing machines. About 20 quilters meet each month to work together; many others work at home and donate the quilts they have made.

At our July and December luncheon meetings we invite representatives from various agencies to receive the quilts. In July we encourage all members to bring in a quilt for our Parade of Children's Quilts. We like to hear how the quilts are used to bring cheer to a frightened or sick child. This is why we do this!
